Wine red high R reserve
This wine belongs to the Altos de Rioja Winery. Established in September 2006, this 'bodega-boutique' is located in the heart of the best 'terroir' of the Rioja Alavesa. It is directed by a group of professionals with impeccable credentials and experience in the world of Spanish wine. All the grapes come from vines to high altitude, in the villages of Laguardia, Elvillar and Kripan.
This wine is composed of grapes from varieties 100% Tempranillo.
Vinification: Is a manual harvest, and after a careful selection of grapes are de-stemmed grapes. Then a pre-fermentation maceration is performed cold from 4 days to 8oC, after which develops the alcoholic fermentation with strict temperature controls between 25-30oC. After alcoholic fermentation maceration for the extraction of polyphenols deemed timely by the winemaker is maintained. Finally the malolactic fermentation, during which are periodically the lees in suspension using the technique of 'battonage' takes place.
Ageing: Aged in 80% in French oak barrels and 20% in new American oak barrels for 24 months, performing a periodic racking every 6 months.
