Rating: Established in 1996 in the town of Doade, the Adega Algueira is run by Fernando Gonzalez, owner and winemaker. Albariño vines, treixadura, Godello and Loureiro are divided by steep terraces (with a slope of 80% !) Along the Sil River and Atlantic clearly microclimate, while inks, Mencia, Sousón, caiño and Merenzao, grow up on opposite sides, protected from the cold by a Mediterranean microclimate. Both a like the others, resting on stony soils with shale slate.

Fernando has the support and guidance of Raúl Pérez wine and wine enjoying the good reviews from Robert Parker, who, for the last few vintages, the wines of excellent rate.

Algueira Mencia is the little star of the house, a purebred vinazo where the color intensity is surprising characteristic of excellent Mencia. There is a subtle note of animal reduction (4-ethylphenol, a similar smell of horse sweat ), which is nice and gives a good outcome to this young man. With good stirring cup, develops a beautiful range of yoghurt with strawberries and blackberries, so the fruit is chewed very rich.
