The Ron Abuelo 12 years is the result of the selection of the best barrels of white oak and spend time in the tropical heat.
It is produced by Varela Hermanos, in Panama.
TASTING NOTES
View:
It has a dark brown colour.
Nose:
Initial impression of the caramelized aroma of brown sugar accented by tobacco, leather and orange peel. Eventually appears a scent to Oak with a hint of cognac and note of marzipan, leather and spices bake.
Mouth:
In mouth it enters with a surprising dryness which seems to be at odds with the promise of sweetness offered on the nose. A wave of spice and oak tannins serve to gather the mouth that gives rum the initial impression of hardness. With time, there is a fruity rum with blackberries and cherries. Dry seems to dominate the finish with a very slight burn in throat.
