White Wine Clea Verdejo from Bodega Bardos presents this White Wine from D.O Rueda (Spain) made from the Verdejo grape variety.
Harvest and Preparation:
White Wine Clea Verdejo is made from vineyards between 20 and 25 years old, located in the Rueda area at more than 700 meters above average sea level and on stony soils. These lands, which are difficult to work with due to their unevenness, allow good aeration and sunlight for the plant. The climate with continental influence and with great temperature differences during the day and night, favor the grapes to ripen with the perfect balance between sugar and acidity.
These bunches are harvested at night, where temperatures below 15ºC are sought. Once in the winery, the grapes go through a cryomaceration process in an inert atmosphere to extract the aromas of the variety. From there, it goes through gentle pneumatic pressing and natural decantation of the must at low temperature. It ferments in the same way at low temperatures to later mature on its own lees for four months.
A FADEMUR and Bodega Bardo project.
FADEMUR, The Federation of Rural Women's Associations of Spain, and Bodega Bardos join forces to create the Clea Project; which will be dedicated each year to promoting female entrepreneurship in rural areas.
The initiative of this project also goes hand in hand with the Clea Verdejo White Wine, with which the winery wants to make visible the important role of women as a pillar of life in the countryside. Bardos Winery will contribute 7,000 euros annually to promote female inclusion and the economic development of projects that add value.
